Biography:
José Manuel Gonçalves is currently associate professor with habilitation at College of Agriculture of Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, Portugal (IPC-ESAC, www.esac.pt), and researcher of Linking Landscape, Environment, Agriculture and Food Research Centre (LEAF, University of Lisbon, www.isa.ulisboa.pt/en/leaf/). He is Associate Editor of the Land and Water Engineering Section of “Agricultural Engineering International: CIGR Journal” (www.cigrjournal.org). He is member of Specialized Commission of Water, Agriculture and Forest of Portuguese Association of Water Resources (www.aprh.pt/en/comissoes/aguas-e-agricultura), and non-executive director of the Coimbra Municipal Water Company (www.aguasdecoimbra.pt/). He is PI of the MEDWATERICE-PRIMA-0005-2018 project and the Operational Group for water management in Lis River Valley, Portugal. He is coordinator of Master of Science Course on Food Security and Rural Development. Since 2018 he is Chair of CIGR Section I.
