Target_Group

ABE professionals and professionals in closely related fields working on CBE or having an interest in circular economy. Students in ABE education programs. Industry and other stakeholders involved in any stage of CBE.

Precedent

CBE is receiving substantial attention in high level strategic and decision-making circles. Agricultural and biosystems engineers are uniquely prepared to contribute to create knowledge and technology, the adoption and implementation strategies, and the application in the field, and the assessment and evaluation of their impacts.
ASABE and EurAgEng have initiated major efforts in this direction that can be expanded to include CIGR member societies.

Goal

Create an environment for ABE professionals and related disciplines to collaborate to develop and disseminate useful knowledge and technology related to CBE that lead to improved quality of life of all in a sustainable and socially responsible manner.

Objectives

1. Identify CIGR professionals working in the field of CBE and create an international network for collaboration.
2. Create a dynamic online platform for exchange of ideas and information.
3. Organize a specialty session on CBE during the International Meetings and World Congresses.
4. Promote the organization of hands-on workshops by experienced individuals for individuals new to the field (including virtual).
5. Support World Congress and International Meeting organizers to create activities focused on CBE.
6. Write a primer on CBE (Along the lines of a CIGR Handbook).
7. Develop curriculum and educational materials for inclusion in ABE programs.
